BMW just published its global sales figures by model for the first half of 2014.

From BMW Group Quarterly Report – Q2:

MINI sales volume influenced by model change
Due to the model change, sales of the MINI Hatch fell by 25.3 % to 47,056 units (2013: 62,958 units) in the first half of the year. The MINI Countryman achieved
sales volume of 53,363 units in the period under report (2013: 50,669 units; + 5.3 %).

    We know there was some R56->F56 effect, but I’m very curious about the huge % hit on the Coupe & Roadster – those vehicles aren’t affected by the F56, yet they’re both something close to 50% down this year. That surely has to be market demand and might paint a sad picture for MINI’s “special market” vehicles.
