The Olympic Games take place this summer in London and MINI is an official partner of Team GB. As we have seen, MINI created a MINI London 2012 special edition for the UK for the London Olympics. MINI UK has built the Great British Roar advertising campaign around its support of the Great Britain Olympic team. MINI UK’s Facebook page has a MINI Great British Roar app which let’s you record a roar to inspire Team GB and win prizes. As part of this promotion, MINI UK posted an offer on its Facebook page offering free window stickers:

The current issue of SPIN magazine contains a three-part print ad for the MINI Coupe and MINI Roadster. Page 45 shows a MINI JCW Coupe with only the heading “SPEED METAL.” followed by page 47 with a MINI JCW Roadster with the heading “HAIR METAL.”. The third part comes on page 75 with both MINIs and the title “GARAGE BAND.” below.

SPIN is now a large-format magazine on thicker, non-glossy paper, so the ads are almost like mini posters measuring 9.5″ wide by 12″ tall.

As we have seen, MINI USA is right in the middle of a MINI Coupe and MINI Roadster ad campaign. So it was a strange surprise when we found this MINI Countryman ad for Winter and the Winter Soul Fest which took place back in January.

This ad can be found in the April/May 2012 issue of VIBE on page 51.

collectibles: MINI Test Drive Takedown trading cards

Earlier this month we wrote about the MINI Test Drive Takedown spring campaign. Going on at MINI dealerships through May 26, car shoppers can test drive MINI models against several competitors. MINI USA has created six “characters” for each of the six models. As part of the campaign, they have produced a pack of six MINI Test Drive Takedown trading cards.

The first MINI Accessories catalog has been released for the MINI Coupe and MINI Roadster. The 16 page flip brochure is filled with 11 pages of MINI accessories and 5 pages of John Cooper Works Tuning accessories. Some accessories specifically for the MINI Coupe and MINI Roadster are the sports-style car cover, fitted luggage compartment mat, seat belt holder, and the fixed John Cooper Works rear spoiler. The JCW rear spoiler is listed at $976.00.

The MINI USA catalog number is MMA-R58R59.

Matchbox 2012 MINI Cooper S Convertible

For you die-cast MINI collectors, Matchbox released its first MINI for 2012.

The MINI Cooper S Convertible comes in bright metallic blue paint with graphic white checkers and large 6 meatballs on the sides. The die-cast MINI is number 3 of 10 in the MBX Beach series and number 13 of 120 in the entire 2012 Matchbox line.

It’s rumored that the lone Hot Wheels MINI for 2012 is a MINI Countryman Rally. Let us know if you spot it.
