Previously we have featured Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning (including The Italian Job), and Road & Track die-cast cars. Today we have a couple die-cast MINIs from the Matchbox Hero City Collection. On the left is number 65, a Liquid Yellow and Black MINI Cooper S with black bonnet stripes. On the right is number 75, a Chili Red [...] Some of the best die-cast MINIs were actually keychains. These Kinsmart MINI Cooper die-cast keychains were made in 1:56 scale and featured “pull back action”. They have nice detailing and came in six colors: Pure Silver / Black They were packaged twelve [...] As part of its Lightning Strike New Cars series, Johnny Lightning produced this 2004 MINI Cooper S die-cast car. The New Cars series featured “authentic factory paint colors” and this MINI Cooper S is painted in Electric Blue. Included with the car is bonus card. Road & Track magazine created a series of die-cast cars including this MINI Cooper. The MINI is Liquid Yellow with a White roof and features racing graphics including silver checkers on the roof. For the movie “Austin Powers: Goldmember” in 2002, Ertl created this 1:18 scale die-cast MINI Cooper featuring the full-car Union Jack graphic. Since March is the month of MINI USA’s launch, we’ve been featuring many collectibles from 2002, the first year of MINI in the US. Here is one of the earliest die-cast cars and possibly the first from Hot Wheels: the 2001 MINI Cooper. The car is Liquid Yellow with a White roof and chrome wheels. This die-cast [...] Soon after the launch of the MINI, there were many die-cast cars produced. But probably none more sought-after as these Johnny Lightning models for The Italian Job movie. They were part of Johnny Lightning’s “Hollywood on Wheels” series and consisted of an Indi Blue MINI Cooper, Chili Red MINI Cooper S, and Pepper White MINI [...] |
