Pandora Internet Radio offers three stations inspired by the MINI Countryman.  Listeners can choose from:

  • MINI Asphalt Radio – Modern rock with artists such as Maroon 5 and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
  • MINI Dirt Road Radio – Country-tinged rock with artists such Johnny Cash and Wilco.
  • MINI Snow Radio – Brit pop and modern rock with artists such as Coldplay and Vampire Weekend.

MINI brand: Countryman drives sales to record level

MINI also reported record figures. At 30,689 units (+28.5%), MINI sales easily exceeded the brand’s previous monthly best from 2008. A total of 60,860 vehicles were sold in the first quarter of 2011. This represents a sales increase of 22.9% compared with the first three months of last year.

The MINI Countryman, introduced last September, contributed to the brand’s positive performance so far this year. With 8,392 vehicles sold, the newest MINI version accounted for more than a quarter of MINI retail in March.

MC2 launches online magazine

MC2 magazine Issue 28
MC2 magazine has gone digital.  The North American MINI magazine launched an online version of itself beginning with Issue 28 for October-November 2010.  Read the online version at

In addition to the magazine, MC2 plans to roll out a few more MINI-related websites.  Later this month, a new GoMotoring website will launch.  According to the announcement email, the site will be a “daily news, info, club, event calendar, event coverage for Mini & MINI site”.  The current RSS feed site at will be replaced.

Also coming soon is MINI Cooper Videos, “[t]he world’s only stand-alone automotive video site”.  To upload videos, you will have to request a password.  Submitted videos will be reviewed and only those selected will be added to the gallery.  Visit MINI Cooper Videos at

MINI USA sales for March 2011

MINI USA reported sales of 6,087 automobiles making it the best March and the 2nd best sales month ever in the U.S.  March 2011 sales are an increase of 68.6% over the 3,610 sold in March, 2010.

Year-to-date, MINI sales in the U.S. are up 41.4% on volume of 12,341  compared to 8,728 in the first three months of 2010.

MINI wins its first rally

Andrea Navarra has scored the first win for the new MINI John Cooper Works S2000 by taking victory on Rally dell’Adriatico.

Navarra led the opening round of the 2011 Italian gravel rally championship (TRT) from start to finish in the Prodrive-built, Grifone-run MINI Countryman RRC (30mm restrictor).

Andreas Mikkelsen finished 12.6 seconds behind in the Skoda Italia-entered Fabia S2000, while veteran Andrea Aghini was third with the Peugeot Italia – Racing Lions-run 207 S2000.
