While Sebastien Loeb increased his overall lead, second place was fiercely contested on Day 2 by MINI’s Dani Sordo and Petter Solberg in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Sordo began the day in second place but lost it to Solberg on the first stage of the day. But by day’s end, Sordo had pushed his way back into second place.
Pierre Campana in the MINI JCW WRC No. 52 moved up one spot into seventh place. Private team drivers Armindo Araujo is eleventh and Paulo Nobre is 24th.
